Employees of AMAKS City Hotel annually plant new trees on the territory of the hotel and take part in the "Garden of Memory" campaign.
The main goal of the large-scale ecological and patriotic campaign is the planting of 27 million trees in memory of everyone who died during the Great Patriotic War. The symbolism of the action – the appearance of green monuments in honor of the heroes – also solves the tasks of preserving and restoring the forest fund, and allows the participants of the action to reduce their carbon footprint.
This year, the planting of new trees is dedicated to one of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War - a native of Bashkortostan, Uchalinsky district, the village of Kunakbaevo — Alexander Matrosov (real name Shakiryan Mukhamedyanov).
In 1943, he went to the front as a volunteer, served in a rifle battalion. On February 27, 1943, he heroically died in battle near the village of Chernushki, Pskov region. Alexander rushed to the bunker with a jerk and closed the enemy embrasure with his body. At the cost of his life, he ensured the advance of our shooters. For this act, Alexander Matrosov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously.
